With arms open wide, we welcome you to our parish family!
The Catholic Community of Good Shepherd welcomes you!
Whether you’ve been away for a while, throughout the pandemic, are curious about Catholicism, or pray with us regularly, know that you’re always welcome.
Be assured of the prayers and support from our community as we gather for worship.
Good Shepherd Parish is comprised of four churches in western Cecil County, Maryland, and is part of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, Delaware. Our churches are Good Shepherd in Perryville, St. Teresa in Port Deposit, St. Agnes in Rising Sun, and St. Patrick Chapel in Pilottown.
The 4pm Mass at Good Shepherd Church is live-streamed and recorded. Go to Good Shepherd's Youtube channel.
God of Mercy,
We pray for Ukraine.
For all of humanity distorted by war.
For all the lives lost, homes seized,
and peace broken.
May the Spirit of comfort and compassion
envelop all who dwell in fear.
May the Spirit of wisdom and humility
enliven our global leaders.
May we affirm the dignity and rights of all.
May we seek peace. Amen.
FAITH AND CHARITY CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN
We are grateful for those who have contributed to the Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal. Your generosity has provided $61,015.00 toward our parish goal of $61,520.50. This total represents 99.18% of the goal.
We make a special appeal to our community; please consider a gift and support the ministries of hope provided by the "Walking By Faith" Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal. Pledge cards are located in the church vestibule.
On behalf of Bishop Koenig, Father Jay, and all who will benefit from your generosity, we thank you.
The Cathedral of St. Peter
The Cathedral of Saint Peter, in the historic Quaker Hill section of the City
of Wilmington, is the Bishop’s own parish and the
center of Catholicism in our diocese.
It was built over 200 years ago – 50 years before the founding of the Diocese of Wilmington - and continues with a small but dedicated
parish community and school.
At the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the diocese began
live-streaming Sunday Mass from our Cathedral.
That effort continues today.
In 2015, Bishop Malooly, with the support of the priests of the diocese,
instituted an annual special collection to support the maintenance
and ministry of our Cathedral.
This year, the collection will be held on August 13 & 14. More information is available at www.cathedralofstpeter.com and at www.cdow.org/cathedral.
We thank you for your generosity.
